Slovenian minority in Italy addresses the new Prime Minister

The Presidents of the Slovenian Cultural and Business Association (SKGZ) and the Confederation of Slovene Organizations (SSO) Ksenija Dobrila and Walter Bandelj sent a letter to the new Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi, in which they congratulated him on his appointment and reffered to open questions of the Slovenian minority in Italy.

The Slovenes in Italy say that they are legally protected at the national and provincial level and that international treaties and European documents also clearly speak of protection, write the presidents of the umbrella organizations of the Slovenes in Italy. In a letter to the new Italian Prime Minister, the organizations state that they are an exceptional prerequisite for the preservation and development of the Slovenian minority, which is historically present in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region on the border with Slovenia.
