FUEN gets the "ilinden-Awards" 2025

The president of the Macedonian Association "Ilinden" Tirana, Nikola Gjurgjaj, presented the "Ilinden" Honorary Award to Lorant Vince, President of the Federal Union of European Nationalities (FUEN).

The "Ilinden" Honorary Award for 2025 was presented to the FUEN for its efforts and support of Macedonians in the Republic of Albania. "It was a great honor for me to personally present the "Ilinden" Honorary Award to the esteemed Lorant Vince, President of the FUEN, on behalf of the Society and the Macedonian minority in the Republic of Albania," Gjurgjaj stated.

Gjurgjaj is attending the 69th Congress of the Union in Bolzano, Italy, where a resolution proposed by the Macedonian Society "Ilinden" Tirana was unanimously adopted yesterday.

The "Ilinden" Honorary Award for 2025 was presented to the FUEN for its efforts and support of Macedonians in the Republic of Albania. The document states that FUEN is calling on Albania to transform the Committee for Minorities – a government body composed of representatives of the nine officially recognized minorities in the country – into a Ministry for National Minorities. According to Gjurgaj, it also calls on the Albanian government to ratify the European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages.
