FUEN Vice President and AGSM Spokesperson Dr Hartmut Leipner at the 38th Forum of National Minorities of Estonia

Directly after the 70th FUEN Congress in Helsinki/Helsingfors, FUEN Vice President and AGSM Spokesperson Dr Hartmut S. Leipner travelled on to Tallinn. On 20 September 2026, he took part in the 38th Forum of National Minorities of Estonia at Tallinn Town Hall.

Leipner represented FUEN at the event, addressed the participants with a welcome greeting and used the visit as an opportunity to exchange views with representatives of national minorities in Estonia. The Forum provided space for discussions on the situation of minorities in the country, their work and current issues affecting the different communities.

The Forum was organised by FUEN member organisation Eestimaa Rahvuste Ühendus (ERÜ), the umbrella organisation of national minorities in Estonia. During his stay, Hartmut Leipner also visited ETNOLAAT on Tallinn’s Town Hall Square, an event showcasing the cultural diversity of the nationalities living in Estonia.

The visit took place just a few days before Estonia’s Day of Nationalities, which is observed annually on 24 September. The day highlights the linguistic and cultural diversity of the nationalities living in the country.
