Klagenfurt / Celovec gets a Slovenian Vice Mayor
16.03.2021
Angelika Mlinar, FUEN Vice President and Speaker of AGSM: "We indeed faced a historic election result in the capital of Carinthia / Koroška. For the first time there will be two members of Slovenian cummunity in the city council, Sonja Koschier (The Greens) and Lojze Dolinar (Team Kärnten) who has even been nominated for Vice Mayor. This offers a great opportunity to strengten the Slovenian community in Klagenfurt / Celovec."
It was already a great election success when Lojze Dolinar was elected fourth on the Team Kärnten list as a city councilor, now the news comes that the newly elected (former) Mayor Christian Scheider also from Team Kärnten had proposed him as Vice Mayor. Among other things, Dolinar wants to ensure that the Slovenian pulse is perceived and recognized even more clearly in the capital.
Sonja Koschier is a teacher at the bilingual College of Economics in St. Peter / Šentpeter near St. Jakob im Rosental / Šentjakob v Rožu, where she teaches music education and Slovene language. She was 5th on the list of The Greens / Die Grünen.
