Petar Tyran honored with the Silver Medal of Honor of Burgenland

The Burgenland-Croatian journalist and editor-in-chief of the Croatian weekly newspaper Hrvatske Novine was awarded the "Silver Medal of the State of Burgenland" on July 19, 2021 by the Burgenland Governor Hans Peter Doskozil.

Petar Tyran was born in Neudorf / Novo Selo in Burgenland in 1955. He studied English, Philosophy and Slavic Studies in Vienna. From 1976 to 1987 he was first vice-president and then chairman of the Croatian Academic Club in Vienna. He is also a very active member of the AGSM and a friend of the Slavic minorities across Europe!
