We mourn the loss of Ilse Johanna Christiansen

It is with great dismay and deep sorrow that we bid farewell to our dear friend and companion Ilse Johanna Christiansen, who passed away on 15 May 2024. As a member of the Frisian ethnic group in Germany, Ilse Johanna was an indispensable part of the FUEN family for decades, a hands-on optimist who worked tirelessly for the interests of minorities in Europe. Her untimely and unexpected death is a bitter loss for us all.

The Macedonian Association "Ilinden"-Tirana Marks Nine Years as a Full Member of the FUEN

Nine years ago, the Macedonian Association "Ilinden"-Tirana was admitted into the Federal Union of European Nationalities (FUEN), which is the largest minority organization in Europe. The Macedonian Association "Ilinden"-Tirana was the first minority organization from the Republic of Albania to become a full member of the FUEN. Read the full press release here.

Slovenska Skupnost - SSk party of the Slovenian minority in Italy runs in EU elections on the SVP list

Kärntner SlowenInnen reichten eine gemeinsame Petition beim Petitionsausschuss des EU-Parlaments ein

Anfang November haben die Obmänner aller Vertretungsorganisationen der Kärntner Slowen:innen sowie der ENOTNA LISTA eine gemeinsame Petition an den Petitionsausschuss des Europäischen Parlaments (PETI) in Brüssel zur mangelnden Umsetzung der Minderheitenrechte und der Verletzung der Rechtsstaatlichkeit in Österreich eingereicht. Mit dieser Petition machen wir gemeinsam auf die unzureichende Umsetzung der Minderheitenrechte in Österreich aufmerksam, insbesondere in Bezug auf die slowenische Volksgruppe in Kärnten.
