"Golden Bridge" between two countries - Meeting of the Croatian community in Serbia and the Serbian community in Croatia

A meeting of representatives of the communities of Croats in Serbia and Serbs in Croatia was held at the premises of the Antun Gustav Matoš Foundation in Belgrade on Tuesday, February 10, 2025. This was the first meeting at the highest level, attended by Jasna Vojnić, President of the Croatian National Council in the Republic of Serbia and a member of Parliament, Milorad Pupovac, President of the SDSS and also a member of Parliament, and Boris Milošević, President of the Serbian National Council in the Republic of Croatia. Both minority communities are members of FUEN and AGSM, and have contributed to the reconciliation process.

Discipline warning in Carinthian parliament because of three words in Slovenian language

Franc Jožef Smrtnik, a Carinthian Slovenian and member of the provincial parliament in Klagenfurt/Celovec, was reprimanded during a parliamentary session for using three expressions in Slovenian in his speech. The second president of the state parliament, Christoph Staudacher (FPÖ), issued Franz-Josef Smrtnik (Team Kärnten) with a call to order. Team Kärnten considers the incident to be scandalous. The Slovenian Foreign Ministry has pledged its support to the member of parliament, according to reports by RTV Slovenija and ORF.

The 79th Hrvatski Bal / Croatian Ball in Vienna took place in Schönbrunn

Around 1,300 guests, including a delegation from FUEN with President Olivia Schubert and Secretary General Eva Penzes, experienced the highlight of the Croatian ball season on Saturday. The 79th Croatian Ball at the Parkhotel Schönbrunn in Vienna, themed "Grad:isće," offered guests a diverse cultural and entertainment program in four ballrooms. Nine musical groups from Austria, Italy, Hungary, and Slovakia performed. Many thanks to the Croatian Center / Hrvatski centar in Vienna, a member of FUEN and AGSM, for such a fantastic event! Hvala!

Ministerin besuchte die kroatische Volksgruppe im Burgenland

Die Bundesministerin Claudia Bauer (ÖVP), zuständig für die autochthonen Volksgruppen in Österreich, besuchte in Eisenstadt/Željezno den Kroatischen Kulturverein (HKD) in Burgenland. Bei dem Treffen mit Vertretern der kroatischen Volksgruppe standen der Dialog über Bildung, Finanzierung und die notwendige Novellierung des Volksgemeindegesetzes im Vordergrund.

Volksgruppenbüro ist 35 Jahre alt

Das Volksgruppenbüro des Landes Kärnten ist 35 Jahre alt. Das Land zog Bilanz und der langjährige Leiter des Volksgruppenbüros, Peter Karpf, übergab seine Funktion an seine bisherige Stellvertreterin, Mirjam Polzer-Srienz. Das Büro pflegt den Dialog zwischen den Volksgruppen und ist Anlaufstelle für die Bevölkerung und die Verwaltung, berichtet der ORF.
