Joži Buranić is the new HKD President

The oldest association of Croats from Burgenland (and member of FUEN/AGSM) - the Croatian Cultural Association (HKD) - has a new president. At the general assembly on Sunday in Klimpuh, Joži Buranić was elected by a large majority to succeed Stanko Horvat, who had been at the helm of the association for 15 years and did not stand for re-election this time. The AGSM congratulates / čestitke and wishes Mr Buranić a great cooperation!

Slovenes in Italy meet with the Foreign Minister

Englisch ja - Minderheitensprachen nein: Stellungnahme des Minderheitenrates zum Gerichtsverfassungsgesetz

Der Minderheitenrat der vier autochthonen nationalen Minderheiten und Volksgruppen Deutschlands sieht in der derzeitigen Regelung des Paragraphen 184 des Gerichtsverfassungsgesetzes ein erhebliches Defizit in Bezug auf die sprachliche Gleichstellung der anerkannten Minderheiten. Es ist bedauerlich, dass es Minderheitenangehörigen nicht möglich ist, vor Gericht Dokumente in ihren Sprachen – Dänisch, Nordfriesisch, Saterfriesisch und Niederdeutsch – einzureichen, ohne auf eigene Kosten Übersetzungen anfertigen zu lassen. Dies stellt eine unnötige Hürde dar und widerspricht dem Anspruch auf Gleichberechtigung, die im Rahmen der deutschen Minderheitenpolitik geschützt werden sollte.

A visit at the Czechs in Slovakia: the 27th AGSM seminar takes place in Košice

Der Burgenlandkroate Nikolaus Berlakovich (ÖVP) aus Šuševo wird in der neuen Einberufung des Parlaments nicht mehr vertreten sein. Der Minderheitssprecher der Volkspartei bedauert dies und wird als Vizepräsident der Europäischen Bauernunion (COPA) die Bauern der Stadt auf europäischer Ebene vertreten.

Nachdem die Grünen bei der Nationalratswahl am Sonntag schwere Verluste erlitten hatten, war klar, dass die Kärntner Grünen das garantierte Kärntner Mandat verlieren würden. Am Dienstag bestätigte die Spitzenkandidatin der Kärntner Grünen und Generalsekretärin der Grünen, Olga Voglauer, dass sie auf der Bundesliste ins Parlament zurückkehren wird.
