The Enotna Lista (EL) in the South Carinthian municipality of Globasnitz/Globasnica has unanimously nominated Bernard Sadovnik as its lead candidate and candidate for mayor in the 2027 local elections. The party announced the decision following a faction meeting.

The new FUEN Presidium and its priorities were presented to Members of the German Bundestag on Thursday, 23 April 2026. FUEN’s delegation held a highly productive Parliamentary Breakfast at the Paul-Löbe-Haus in Berlin, hosted by MP Knut Abraham. During the event, the delegation engaged in vital discussions with cross-party lawmakers under the overarching theme: "Autochthonous minorities in tomorrow’s Europe".

Slovenian Minister of Foreign Affairs addresses minority rights in meetings in Trieste/Triest/Trst

On the occasion of the celebrations marking the 30th anniversary of the Executive Secretariat of the Central European Initiative, Slovenian Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Tanja Fajon visited Trieste/Trieste/Trst on 17 March. During her visit, she addressed key issues concerning the political representation of the Slovenian minority in Italy, discussing them throughout the day both with representatives of the minority and in a meeting with her Italian counterpart, Antonio Tajani.

The Working Group of Slavic Minorities (AGSM) of the Federal Union of European Nationalities (FUEN) strongly condemns the attacks committed during the night of 28 February to 1 March 2026 in the Burgenland municipalities of Steinbrunn/Štikapron and Hornstein/Vorištan. Unknown perpetrators deliberately vandalised the Croatian-language place names on the bilingual place-name signs with black paint.

Presentation of the Croatian Bilingual School project in Vienna

At the Croatian Center in Vienna / Hrvatski centar (a member of AGSM), the Rešetarić School Association provided an update on Thursday regarding the "Bilingual School in Vienna" project. The plan is for an educational institution offering Croatian and German language instruction from kindergarten through high school graduation. The school will be a private school with public sponsorship and will offer a full-day bilingual program. Initially, it will be located in the Komensky School building.

Zweisprachige Ortstafeln in Steinbrunn-Štikapron und Hornstein-Vorištan beschmiert – Kroatische Organisationen verurteilen Vandalenakt entschieden

Die kroatischen Vertretungsorganisationen in Österreich zeigen sich zutiefst betroffen und empört über die jüngsten Vandalenakte in den Gemeinden Steinbrunn-Štikapron und Hornstein-Vorištan (Bezirk Eisenstadt-Umgebung). In der Nacht von Samstag auf Sonntag wurden die kroatischen Ortsbezeichnungen auf den zweisprachigen Ortstafeln mutwillig mit schwarzer Farbe beschmiert. Dieser Angriff richtet sich nicht nur gegen die kroatische Volksgruppe, sondern gegen das gesamte Miteinander im Burgenland.

Gestern hat sich das Domowina-Präsidium im Haus der Sorben in Budyšin/Bautzen zu seiner regulären Sitzung getroffen. Auf der Agenda standen mehrere aktuelle Themen. Aus Sicht der Domowina ist es längst an der Zeit, die vier autochthonen nationalen Minderheiten Deutschlands ins Deutsche Grundgesetz aufzunehmen. Das Präsidium zeigt sich enttäuscht in Bezug auf die aktuellen Aussagen des Bundesministeriums des Innern, welches diese Forderung nicht unterstützt.
