FUEN Yearly Brochure - Activity Report 2025 - 2026

As part of the 70th FUEN Congress in 2026 in Helsinki / Helsingfors, the new FUEN Annual Brochure 2025–2026 has also been published. The brochure provides an overview of numerous FUEN activities between the 2025 Congress in Bulsan / Bozen / Bolzano and this year’s Congress. Among other things, the report on the AGSM activities can be found from page 26 onwards.

Directly after the 70th FUEN Congress in Helsinki/Helsingfors, FUEN Vice President and AGSM Spokesperson Dr Hartmut S. Leipner travelled on to Tallinn. On 20 September 2026, he took part in the 38th Forum of National Minorities of Estonia at Tallinn Town Hall.

FUEN Assembly of Delegates 2026 calls for greater inclusion of minority languages in artificial intelligence

The third day of the FUEN Congress is traditionally dedicated to its member organisations. At the Assembly of Delegates, the highest decision-making body of the Federal Union of European Nationalities (FUEN), the representatives review the past year and make important decisions for the future of the organisation.

The congress website is now online, and registration for the 70th FUEN Congress is open.

AGSM Seminar in Tirana focuses on minority rights and the EU perspective

From 4 to 7 June, the 29th Seminar of the FUEN Working Group of Slavic Minorities (AGSM) took place in Tirana – for the first time in Albania and in the year marking the 30th anniversary of AGSM. Around 40 representatives of Slavic minorities from across Europe took part. The event was organised together with the Macedonian Association “Ilinden”-Tirana, which represents the Macedonian minority in Albania.

29th Seminar of the Slavic Minorities in Europe to take place in Albania for the first time

The 29th Seminar of the AGSM will take place from 4 to 7 June in the Albanian capital Tirana. The meeting is organised by FUEN in cooperation with the Macedonian FUEN member organisation “Ilinden”-Tirana. The seminar will bring together representatives of Slavic minorities from across Europe and provide space for exchange, networking and internal consultations.

Liliána Grexa re-elected as spokesperson of the Ukrainian nationality in the Hungarian National Assembly

Liliána Grexa has been re-elected as spokesperson of the Ukrainian nationality in the Hungarian National Assembly. Her renewed mandate stands for continuity in representing the Ukrainian minority in Hungary, with a focus on education, culture, religious life and visibility. The AGSM in FUEN warmly congratulates her and looks forward to continued cooperation.

Austria: Bernard Sadovnik to Run Again for Mayor of Globasnitz/Globasnica in 2027

The Enotna Lista (EL) in the South Carinthian municipality of Globasnitz/Globasnica has unanimously nominated Bernard Sadovnik as its lead candidate and candidate for mayor in the 2027 local elections. The party announced the decision following a faction meeting.
