The Union of the Slovenes in Italy  is a political party in Italy representing the Slovene minority in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region, established in 1975. 

SLOVENIAN COMMUNITY, SSk, the National Party of Slovenes in Italy, which is “based on the principles of national identity, political independence, pluralistic democratic order and social justice” (Article 1 of the Rules). The path of independent groups to the establishment of the SSk was different in Trieste and Gorizia, and the more active presence in the province of Udine dates back to the time after the provincial reorganization.

SLOVENSKA SKUPNOSTSSk, narodna stranka Slovencev v Italiji, ki “temelji na načelih narodne samobitnosti, politične samostojnosti, pluralistične demokratične ureditve in socialne pravičnosti” (1. člen Pravil). Sedanjo organizacijsko obliko, ki pokriva avtonomno deželo Furlanijo-Julijsko krajino, je dobila na I. deželnem kongresu 24. maja 1975, vendar kot dopolnitev dela samostojnih slovenskih političnih skupin na Goriškem in Tržaškem v vsem povojnem času ter z navezavo (tudi z ohranjanjem simbola “lipove vejice”) na samostojno politično nastopanje Primorcev še pod Avstrijo in Italijo v letih po prvi svetovni vojni. S političnim delom na krajevni, državni in meddržavni ravni ter z nastopi svojih predstavnikov v izvoljenih telesih si prizadeva za spoštovanje narodnostnih pravic Slovencev v Furlaniji-Julijski krajini, kot jih določajo italijanska ustava in državne ter deželne zaščitne norme, meddržavni sporazumi ter splošne konvencije o pravicah narodnih in jezikovnih manjšin, za vsestranski napredek slovenske narodnostne skupnosti, za sožitje med Slovenci in Italijani ter sodelovanje med Italijo in Slovenijo, za reševanje splošnih vprašanj na območju, kjer živi slovenska manjšina.

Pot samostojnih skupin do ustanovitve SSk je bila na Tržaškem in Goriškem različna, dejavnejša prisotnost v videmski pokrajini pa sega šele v čas po deželni reorganizaciji.
